BUYING A CHRISTMAS TREE - ATTEMPT 2!

A few posts ago, I shared my experiences buying our first Christmas tree for our first apartment. Since I love the holidays, I'm the kind of person who wants to express that appreciation, all year round. So, my boyfriend and I browsed Wayfair and found one that had no reviews, but was on sale - so we bought it. Well...we both were extremely disappointed; me more than my boyfriend actually. You can read more on that post here.

So we returned that tree in a heartbeat and moved onto the next. I found a few trees that I liked, with reviews, and sent them to my boyfriend to check out. We agreed on one that had the most branches and ordered it.  About a week later, my boyfriend came home early from work - always a great surprise - and he surprised me with a box in the Livingroom; it was the tree!

First thing I noticed right away was how big the box was - much bigger than the previous one. My boyfriend opened the box and I was already impressed - I knew we got a keeper!

By the appearance of the branches, I knew the tree was going to be 100x better than the previous one. We assembled the base and fluffed out the branches within 10 minutes and I was super excited to assemble the rest. We were doing laundry at the same time so we took breaks in between, which made the experience even better.

Semi-fluffed base

The base took the longest since it was the biggest. Dimitar was amazed by the quality of the tree in comparison to the one we bought from wayfair; it was literally night and day difference. Within an hour an a half, we had assembled the entire tree; we managed to accidentally break off one of the branches from the top, but we stuck it onto another branch and it was hardly even noticeable; because of all the other branches that made up for it!

The tree was worth the wait and I'm so happy with how it turned out. We even managed to buy some tree decorations at Tysons Corner Mall afterwards at their seasonal Christmas store. We decided that every time a life changing event happens in our life, we will add a new ornament to the tree. The overall color theme of the tree will be gold, silver, and white, with the occasional colors from the personalized ornaments.

So, I hope you all enjoy the new addition to our living room as much as we do, and we are excited to continue making our apartment nice and cozy! I'm in the process of creating a vlog for my YouTube channel which will cover unboxing our new tree and when it's published, I will updated this blog to show it - so stay tuned!

Until next time! xoxo - Sarah Lucas
