PET SITTING, FIREWORKS, & FIRST SNOW FALL!

Happy New Years everyone! I have been editing a vlog for YouTube and I haven't had the chance to sit down and type up a daily life post. There has been so much excitement going on that it can sometimes be hard to put into words. With a new year before us though, I feel like this year has started off great and I had some time to myself to share an update with you all.

For starters, I have had back to back bookings for pet sitting before Christmas; I was cat sitting for one week, dog sitting for another week after that, and then back to cat sitting around New Years. I was constantly in and out of the house so I wasn't able to do much with my time but, it was really nice to be around more animals! It always amazes me how each pet has their own unique personality and I really enjoy getting to know each of them.

Speaking of Christmas, my boyfriend gifted me an iPad which shocked me the most out of all of my Christmas presents! I have been procrastinating about getting an iPad for so long that my boyfriend finally decided to surprise me with one; it shocked me so much that I cried out of joy. Since then, I have been doodling on it with Procreate and it has been such a blast!

One day, on a trip to Microcenter (an electronics store), I ended up buying a new phone because of the great deals they had. For those who watch my vlogs on YouTube, I have mentioned before that I have had an iPhone 5 phone for almost six years. I'm not the kind of person who upgrades because of trends, but I felt like it was time to get a new phone; so I did. There is an interesting story behind getting the phone, but I will leave that for a later post!

Dimitar and I have also been spending a lot of time on the couch paying our new favorite game for the PS4, It Takes Two. We've been eyeing this game for quite some time now and Dimitar got it for us to play after Christmas. It's a fun and unique co-op game, where you solve puzzles in an immersive, colorful world. If you enjoy playing games with your partner or your friends even, this game is definitely a must try! We play for hours and can both easily say that there should be more co-op games like it!

A great co-op game!

During the week of Christmas, the weather was fairly warm so Dimitar and I went for a walk in DC. We parked our car along the Mount Vernon trail where we then managed to find our way to the Arlington Memorial Bridge. We had never walked over the bridge before and by the time we made it across, the sun was setting. It was magical! Whenever I see beautiful sunsets, it always makes me think of my lovely mother.

On New Years, Dimitar surprised me by taking me to a Christmas tree show in DC. It was a lovely setup where there were over 50 different trees that all displayed ornaments from students of various grades and levels. It was nice to see the talent these kids had and truly inspired me. There was also a lovely tree in the center of the event too that brought the event together. Around midnight, Dimitar and I went off to watch the fireworks to celebrate the New Years. It gave us both a lot to think about and encouraged us to make 2022 a wonderful year.

Happy New Years!

On one of our spare days together, we once again found ourselves in DC, roaming around. There was a nice  high-end shopping strip that we discovered on our walks that was decorated with colorful lights and even another tall Christmas tree. I wasn't sure where we were to be honest, but it was a lovely spot for taking pictures and relaxing. I honestly wish there were more relaxing spots around just like this one that encouraged people to be more in the moment.

That evening, there was a weather warning that a winter storm was around the corner; which was weird since it was so warm! Around 5am though the next day, it started to snow and it lasted until 1pm in the afternoon! I always get all giddy inside when I know it's about to snow and when it finally did, I was super excited to go outside. It was predicted that we would get over 6 inches of snow, but in actuality we received 12 inches! I really wanted to go sledding too but there weren't any good hills nearby so we walked around the town instead. On the 3rd day of the year, we had our first snow day and we may even get some more this week! What a great omen!
